Are you time hungry & using the internet to source a ‘Hot Tub’ ? Be Aware ~ Googling the wording ‘Hot Tub’ can bring you more than you bargain for.

Best Advice we can give you here:-

1.  If you are ‘pitched’ a hot tub find out where it is manufactured before you pay any money over & do a comparison against all other well known brands, particular attention to the construction of the Shell, Filtration Systems, Insulation, Purification, Pumps, Jets & only then consider the Led lighting, Stereo/TV’s or any other ‘Freebies’ thrown in & don’t be fooled by years & years of Service Warranty, it is worthless if company goes bankrupt, do your homework, never buy a hot tub on price the energy/chemical bills could be crippling!

History

Previously Kay imported quality Dressage horses from Holland & Germany through her business Global Dressage. Being a professional rider lead to back & neck pain over the years hence the reason for shopping for a hot tub in August 2009.

Kay found what appeared to be a very reputable website company, a site surveyor came to her home & she duly purchased an American ‘Seattle’ – unfortunately it wasn’t American transpired it was actually from China & it never actually materialesed!   Kay had to commence Court Proceedings & all monies were refunded following a tiresome battle with the rogue company.  Be very wary Chinese hot tubs to the untrained eye look the same as a genuine American or Canadian Spa.

The partners of the rogue company had been bankrupt in 2007 & had began trading again immediately using the same tactics of extracting money out of UK consumers into believing they were buying an American hot tub generating their leads using multiple websites using Google Adwords to sit Nr. 1 on google when you searched the term ‘Hot Tub’ all operated & owned by the same partners ~

Kay was asked by the authorities to work voluntarily for them and after 14 months the partners have been arrested & bailed facing charges of conspiracy to defraud. A group of consumers whose Online Action Fraud reports made this possible are known as Friends with Claims Nationwide http://www.friendswithclaimsnationwide.blogspot.com Kay owns & operates this website, set up to assist the hundreds of people conned out of millions of pounds, every member of this group who got one of these Chinese hot tubs is worse off, as each one has been condemned by UK independent engineers.

It is horrifying there are no regulations on hot tubs (Electrical, Water & High Suction) being imported, advertised & sold in the UK it is a free for all & the margins on Chinese imports are double or treble those of a reputable American or Canadian branded hot tub.

The Start of South Coast Spas

Kay’s second attempt to buy a quality hot tub was a very different affair, she tried all genuine Branded American & Canadian Hot Tubs, travelling up to 3hrs to try the Coast Spa, which impressed her the most & she bought it direct from Don Elkington, CEO, Coast Spas Manufacturing, Langley, Vancouver, Canada.  Kay ‘chose’ a Cascade Niagara for the exclusive build quality of Shell, 175sq ft fully programmable Cyclonic Commercial Filtration System & the Energy Efficiency proven with this brand.  The awesome Vanishing Edge benefit of Zero water displacement where the water never rises be it 1 or 8 people in the spa was the icing on the cake.

Don invited Kay out to the factory & Coast Spa Store  in Langley, Vancouver before her own Niagara arrived & subsequently their passion to protect the first time Hot Tub Buyer from Rogue Chinese Hot Tubs resulted in Kay undertaking the offer of becoming a UK Dealer for Coast Spas Manufacturing Inc, purchasing direct from the Factory.

One month later in September 2010 South Coast Spas launched at the British National Dressage Championships with that one single Niagara Hot Tub seen below with the PSG Champion Charlotte Dujardin celebrating in it following a bet with Kevin Sparrow,  to the amusement of her ’dressage colleagues’ she was not competing this time but exhibiting a hot tub!.   Two sales of Niagara materialised at the Champs & Kay ordered those along with her 7  floorstock, her first container of custom ordered Coast Hot Tubs arrived in Southampton Docks on December 4th 2010.
